Connections Magazine, Spring 2009 Issue

As the Editor, Sara Patterson selected a feature story that involves the intervention of three NorthShore physicians to save the health and life of a young father with a tumor on his spine.

Sara wrote the story of a breast cancer patient who achieves the best health outcome by following an individualized program of care devised by NorthShore surgeons and physicians. Another story that Sara wrote for this issue is about a patient with severe sepsis whose life is saved by a NorthShore surgeon. A lifelong resident of Evanston, the patient’s life was saved twice by physicians at Evanston Hospital, when he was a baby and then when he was middle-aged.
